Quadriceps Tendon Tear

    Quadriceps Tendon Tear

This is a significant injury that typically occurs in older athletes. There is usually an association of ongoing tendonitis of the quadriceps tendon as it attaches to the top of the kneecap. This injury usually occurs from an explosive activity, such as a jump or fall. Symptoms are a loud pop and the inability to extend the leg. This condition typically always requires surgical intervention. Rehabilitation can take approximately 4-6 months.
