John M. Gargaro, M.D.
In December of 2007, Dr. John M. Gargaro left our practice to accept a position with Kaiser Permanente. He is a native of Detroit, Michigan. He attended Harvard University where he received a B.A. in English and University of Michigan Medical School for his M.D. degree. He completed his internship and orthopaedic surgical residency under Dr. Alfred B. Swanson, M.D. at Michigan State University's program in Grand Rapids, Michigan. After practicing general orthopedics for five years in under-served Klamath Falls, Oregon, he returned to academia completing a one-year fellowship in Hip and Knee Reconstructive Surgery at Orthopaedics International in Seattle, Washington. After relocating to Denver in 1998, he became a partner in Denver Orthopedic Clinic focusing primarily on joint replacement surgery. He has completed clinical research projects in the area of adult reconstruction and speaks nationally on related topics. He has served as a consultant for several orthopaedic and pharmaceutical companies. He joins Western Orthopaedics with the goal of establishing a premiere center for hip and knee reconstruction in the Denver metro area. Dr. Gargaro is Board Certified and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Stuart C. Kennedy, M.D.
Dr. Kennedy left our practice in December 2003 to go to his wife’s Australian homeland where he continues to practice orthopedics and raise his 3 beautiful children. He had joined our practice in 1998. Dr. Kennedy completed his bachelor of science at the University of Wyoming and received his medical degree from the University of Colorado. After graduating with honors from medical school he completed his surgical internship at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. He then finished his residency in Washington, D.C. at Georgetown University Medical Center. Dr. Kennedy is board certified and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. His interests include total joint reconstruction, sports medicine and arthroscopy of the shoulder and knee. Dr. Kennedy has been a team physician for college and professional athletes. He also treated patient’s in outreach clinics in Kansas and Nebraska.
